DARKNESS AND LIGHT

I have said before that there have been times in my life when my experience of hurt and negativity have felt much more powerful than the energies of Unity consciousness and healing.

I sat and wrestled with those experiences and I began to realize, if it were true, that the negativity were more powerful, then I would have been done in a long time ago. I came to the startling conclusion that whatever my senses, memory or emotions were telling me was just not true on the spiritual plane.

Again, if the powers of darkness were greater, which was what my emotions and experience were telling me, then they would have overcome me a long time ago.

Isn’t that amazing? The darkest, most difficult time in our lives when we thought and felt that we could not move on, the times when we felt the darkness was overpowering, even in those moments, the Light, the power of Spirit was stronger. Remember that.

I believe that is what Jesus meant when he said, “The gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”  A Course in Miracles suggests, God’s love will ultimately outwit your self-hatred.
