IT'S EASY (AND HUMAN) TO FORGET
I FORGET ...
The invitation of Jesus, “Come to me all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest” stands in sharp contrast to the Old Testament declaration, “By the sweat of your brow you shall earn your bread.” If offered a choice you would think I would choose Jesus over sweat, but amazingly there are times when either I forget to choose consolation or I forget it is there.
I forget. I get angry and annoyed that I forget, but that doesn’t stop me from forgetting.

Years ago I came across a marvelous book called If Life Is A Game, These Are The Rules by Cherie Carter Scott. While I was reading the “rules” I thought to myself, “How wonderful it would be if I could always keep these ideas in mind.” Then I got to the last rule which stated “You will forget all this.”
It cracked me up. It was such a beautiful statement of the human condition. One minute I will be awake/aware and the next I will be asleep/unaware or forgetting. Nothing bad, nothing wrong - just human.
