Power

It was many years ago, but I remember attending a workshop where the leader was talking about “giving your power away.” I had no idea what she was talking about. I was fairly new in recovery and had experienced enough ego power of control and manipulation and denial to practically kill me, so I was pretty wary of power. As things progressed I came to realize she was talking about spiritual power, not to control or manipulate, but to love, to heal, to sanctify and transform. This is the power resulting in the recognition of the True Self, the unconditionally loved child of God who all of us are. As an offspring of the Creator we are part of God and therefore participate in Gods’ creative power and all of its other attributes.

Christ In Training does not deny power, for that is to deny the power of God. When Jesus imbued His disciples with power he proclaimed that nothing could harm them, and that is true. Even though their bodies might have been tortured and destroyed, they knew nothing real had been taken away from them. Now that kind of knowledge is real power.

I get upset and feel incomplete when I lose my keys.
