Presence of God

Perhaps it is because I am somewhat of an introvert; I always liked the idea expressed in scripture about going to a quiet place to pray. I have heard it said a number of ways that we find God in the silence.

Practicing the presence of God, no matter how we do it is an essential part of our spirituality. Jesus was never far from His recognition of the presence of the Father. In fact, I would suggest that to be Christ, is to continually know and be aware of the Presence of God.

This is not just a passive kind of knowing. Awareness of the presence of God by its very nature changes and transforms us. John said it wonderfully, “He who abides in love abides in God and God in him.” No matter where we find or experience God

Reflect on this: PRAYER OF St. Theresa

Let nothing disturb thee, let nothing dismay thee, all things pass, God never changes, patience attains all that is ever strived for, she(he) who has God finds she(he) lacks for nothing.
